Closures make the news because they are local and visual. A lot of those rooms come back as second generation restaurant space for the next operator. The demand for equipped kitchens has not disappeared with the headlines.

Watch occupancy cost and remaining term more than the national closure stories. Restaurants with rent that still fits sales, and a landlord who will assign the lease, keep trading.
