What permits do I need before opening a new restaurant location?

Health permits, liquor license, signage, grease trap — the list feels overwhelming. What order should I tackle these in?

Health permit, fire, grease interceptor approval, signage, and liquor if you need it. Pull the certificate of occupancy path from the landlord first. A lot of delayed openings are CO and hood recertification, not the business license.

Add the seller permit and workers comp before you hire. Cities will not let you finish health if payroll is already running in a space that is not cleared.

Order of operations that has worked for me: control the space, hood and fire, health, then liquor. Liquor wants proof of premises.
